Lawrence Lim of the Jaguars opened the scoring at 8:34 of the first period with a slap shot from the high slot that beat the Vernon goaltender Don Prowse. Just 6:43 later Vernon forward Cory Webb evened the score which is where the first period ended. The second period was like a chess match as both teams were cautious in their execution with neither able to solve the goaltending battle that ensued between Flyers 52 years young Don Prowse and Jaguars 44 years young Tony Ferreira. The first period of overtime saw chances both ways with the game almost ending as Delta's Keenan Monkhouse hit the post late in the period. The second over time saw both teams with more chances early on before Vernon forward Nigel Barker potted the winner just 3:11 into the second overtime period in front of a cheering hometown crowd of family, friends and ball hockey fans.
