TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Four team tournament. Teams will play each team in the division once for 2 round robin games. The 2nd place and 3rd Place teams from the preliminary round will advance to the semi final. First place team will advance to the final. Winning semi final team will advance to the championship game.

RULES CLARIFICATION :

ID CHECKS:
ID Checks will be performed prior to each game. Only government issued photo ID will be accepted. Failure to ptovide ID will result in players not being able to participate.
 
PICK-UPS:
Women's - Each team is allowed to pick-up 3 players from within your league providing the pick-ups team has not qualified. BCBHA must be notified in writing by use of Addition/Deletion Form by 6:00pm the day before the tournament begins. Failure to submit by the deadline and pick-ups will not be permitted to play.

LATE PLAYERS:
Players late for games will be permitted to play provided they have provided ID to Tournament Staff and are dressed, on their teams bench and have reported to the referees prior to the start of the second period.
 
UNIFORMS/EQUIPMENT:
All divisions must have matching jerseys. Jerseys must be of identical colour scheme but may or may not have identical cresting. Minimum goalie jersey requirement is a matching colour jersey. Players not complying with this rule will not be eligible to play.
 
Colour conflict games. The team not wearing their declared colour must change. In the event of two teams having the same declared colour, the Visiting Team must change.
 
Men’s “B”  and Women's divisions only must have matching pants or shorts. If shorts are used, identical colour socks and/or pads must be used by all players. Non-matching pants or shorts will be permitted with a $25 team fine (one fine per team per game for an unlimited number of non-matching pants/shorts). This $25 fine will have to be paid to BCBHA executive member on site prior to offending player(s) taking part in the game(s).

Men’s “C” and "D" division team players must wear either pants or shorts and can be non-matching.
 
All divisions: team players must wear either pants or shorts – combinations are not permitted.
 
The use of gloves is mandatory. Wearing ice hockey gloves or CBHA approved Knapper gloves is recommended. The use of palm-less gloves is not permitted. Gloves may have worn palms from normal wear, provided fingers are not exposed. Finger portions may be repaired with tape to cover any exposure on the under-side. After one warning by the referee, a minor penalty shall be imposed for illegal equipment. Gloves may not be altered in any way to leave the wrists exposed. Gloves that are equipped with laces or other forms of enclosure to provide coverage of the writs MUST have the laces present and fastened securely to provide protection to the wrists. Absolutely no modifications to a glove will be deemed permissible.

Use of shin guards is mandatory. All shin guards, with the exception of soft covered or the approved hard shin guards such as Knapper brand, must be covered by socks.

CSA Approved hemet's are mandatory. All players under age of 18 must wear full facial CSA approved face shields. Players over 18 are not required to wear them, however, if they wear any type of facial protection, it must be CSA approved 

Alcohol is not permitted in or outside (parking lot) of the Arena(s). Any player(s) in violation of this will be immediately suspended from the tournament.
 
Please make note that abuse (both physical and/or verbal) of BCBHA game officials or executives will not be tolerated and will be dealt with harshly.

GAME RULES:
Games will be 3 Periods 13 minute each. There will be no overtime in the preliminary round and ties will stand at the end of regulation. Ties in the elimination round will be broken by 10 minute sudden death overtime periods. Teams are permitted 2 timeouts per game.

There will be a 5 minute warmup at the beginning of each game. Regulation time will have 5 minute intermissions. Overtime periods will have 2 minute intermissions.

If a seven goal difference is reached during the second period, the clock will be on running time. If a seven goal difference is reached by the end of the second period or during the third period, the game will be stopped.  For the purposes of plus/minus a team cannot achieve more than plus seven in any one game. 

GENERAL:
Rule 15a shall apply – minimum starting lineup shall consist of six players.
 
All players must be registered on your team’s roster form with a maximum of 22 active players per game including 2 goalies.
 
Any 5 minute major penalty and player will be ejected from the game. Exception – goalies to follow CBHA rulebook
 
Any Forfeits will be penalized by a $1000.00 fine and loss of 2 points.
 
Suspensions of two or less games cannot be appealed.
 
Gamesheets will be available from the tournament table.

All suspensions are subject to review by the BCBHA, which may deem it necessary to add further disciplinary action depending on the gravity of the offense. Any actions by players, coaches, team affiliates or followers that are detrimental to the sport will not be tolerated. Individuals found responsible will be dealt with severely by the BCBHA through suspension.

1. Most Wins
2. Head to Head
3. +/- on Head to Head
4. Overall +/-
5. Highest Total Of Goals For Scored In Games Involving Only The Tied Teams
6. Overall Goals For
7. Least Penalty Minutes
8. If A Tie Still Exists Then The Teams Will Play A Shootout.
 

In the case of more than two tied teams the “Head to Head” would refer to all the games involving only the tied teams. Tie Breakers will always continue to work down the numbered list and never revert back to the top for any reason. In the case of more than two tied teams where teams do not play each other an equal amount of times, Head to Head will not be used and Overall +/- will be the next tie breaker used.
